Concept
Our proposal is guided by the belief that a strong sense of homeliness and high-quality open spaces can be successfully combined with high urban density. In doing so, the project offers a valuable contribution to resource-conscious and sustainable urban development.
The design evolves from the existing framework of open spaces, which is carefully extended and reinterpreted. New public and semi-public spaces provide fresh impetus for the wider neighbourhood. Particular emphasis is placed on the connection between these open spaces and the adjoining ground-floor uses – fostering vibrancy and everyday urban life.
A key challenge lies in integrating the large corridor reserved for the proposed A100 motorway in the southern section of the site. We see this constraint as an opportunity to establish a generous, park-like urban space with a diverse range of uses – particularly for younger residents.
Towards the Thaerstraße bridge and the S‑Bahn cutting, the Fennpfuhl neighbourhood is given a distinctive urban presence.
Three towers form a striking architectural ensemble that combines residential quality and carefully designed outdoor spaces with a compact and efficient urban footprint – a valuable contribution to resource-conscious, sustainable city development.
