Concept

In 2021 and 2022, we systematically investigated previously untapped densification potential within Berlin’s urban fabric. Our focus was on identifying how existing structures could be meaningfully complemented or further developed through a range of strategies — including „Fill-In,” „Add-On,” „Top-Up,” „Extend,” and „Rebase.” The findings of this study have been illustrated in our Land Use Atlas, which serves as a foundation for sustainable and future-oriented urban development.
